Iraq – Training Course for the Conservation of Baghdad Religious Historic Buildings

The project stems from the assessment of seven historic buildings in Baghdad undertaken by Archi.Media Trust Onlus in early 2017. Six religious buildings (mosques and/or minarets) and a ‘khan’ (a caravanserai transformed in a market place) belonging to the Sunni Endowment are in a dire need of restoration, including stabilization of the foundations and material conservation.
The project foresees a three-month training course for conservators, architects and engineers of the Sunni Endowment and the procurement of equipment for the monitoring of the seven structures.
